Is long-term chastity healthy?
Can wearing a chastity cage for week do harm to my penis?
Those are two of the most common questions I get (or see online) about the effects of long-term chastity.
Obviously, nothing is more important than your health and well being.
As a result, I wanted to dedicate a entire blog post specifically talking about the effects of long term chastity on men – both the physical and emotional/psychological aspects.
And believe me, chastity does have quite a big impact on your life. Some of the changes are pretty obvious – like how you can’t get a real hardon and jerkoff.
But some of the changes are more subtle and some that I’ve only come to realize very recently.
In the past, I’ve talked about many of the benefits of chastity, but this post will cover both the good and bad things about this little fetish that we crave so much.
Here are 7 realities of long-term chastity for males
Contents
1. Lack of sleep…
Okay, technically this one may be a short term effect of chastity, but some locked up guys still experience this once in a while.
The first is thing you will probably notice is a lack of *quality* sleep for the first few days or even the first week. It really depends on how light a sleeper you are.
It’s different for everyone, but some people have it worse than others. Your penis naturally gets hard at night (even more so if you are having a good dream!)
In fact, during REM sleep, the typical man gets 3 – 5 erections!
That’s why you often wake up with morning wood.
However, when you are wearing a chastity cage, you can’t get a full erection. Instead, your cock will simply press firmly and throb against the cage.
As a result, it is not uncommon to just randomly wake up in the middle of the night because you are straining against the cage.
And if you are super horny because of a long tease and denial session with your keyholder, it’ll probably be hard to close your eyes and fall asleep with that big hardon!
If you are a light sleeper, this may need an “adjustment period” to get used to chastity. This may result in you having a few rough nights of bad sleep.
But like most things, you’ll just get used to it after a while.
As I have always said, the hardest part of chastity is getting through the first few days!
2. Constant discomfort??
Discomfort can be something you experience when wearing a chastity cage for the first time.
The discomfort can come from a few reasons.
Sometimes its because you are not sized properly for the cage – either you are too big or too small.
In general, a chastity cage should be comfortable when soft and uncomfortable when hard (especially when you are getting teased)!
Here are some tips when it comes to correctly sizing your cage:
First, measure your cock when it is soft (ideally after a shower so the skin is nice and loose) – you typically want up to half an inch of room in the cock cage
Second, you’ll always want to measure your testicles to get sized properly for a ring – take a measuring tape and wrap it around your cock just behind your balls. That will give you the circumference.
Then, you need to go back to middle school math and divide that measurement by 3.14 (Pi) to get the diameter.
For example, if you measure 157 mm, divide it by 3.14 and you’ll get 50 mm. As a result, you’ll want to get a cage with a 50 mm ring.
Another reason why you are experiencing discomfort in chastity is because you just aren’t used to it. You aren’t used to having a ring around your balls and you aren’t used to having a cage around your cock.
But with time, those sensations will go away. It’s kind of like going without wearing a hat for your entire life and then wearing a hat 24/7.
And finally, you will also have discomfort because of blue balls!
3. Blue balls
Another long-term impact of chastity is big blue balls!
Well, actually you’ll probably get blue balls a few days into chastity depending on how hard (no pun intended) your keyholder has been teasing you.
The thing with blue balls is it can be very uncomfortable or even painful in some cases! It may feel like you have gas built up in your stomach that you just can’t release…
You feel like there’s a big knot down there and it can be distracting sometimes.
But it’s just part of the chastity experience. Obviously regular milkings are important (which I’ll discuss later).
But here’s the funny thing…
Eventually you’ll love the blue balls
You’ll love the fact that you suffer so much for your keyholder. It’s kind of like a weird circle – you get hornier but you love that you get hornier in the cage
Weird stuff, right? haha
You know you have been “broken” by your wife/girlfriend when you CRAVE blue balls!
4. Cleanliness
One of the big issues with long-term chastity is maintaining personal hygiene.
With some cages, it can be hard to clean the cage after you take a piss. In fact, no matter the cage, there always seems to be a few droplets of piss that find its way back to your cage.
Obviously that can build up over time along with your natural body sweat.
Over time, things can get, well, pretty dirty down there. As a result, it is VERY important to wash yourself every morning down there.
I would recommend actually taking off the cage at least twice a week to do a thorough cleaning of not only your manhood, but also the cage.
This ensures no harmful buildup of bacteria or bad smells.
If you don’t want to take off the cage, then I would recommend aiming the shower head against your cage to try to get all the nooks and crannies clean. And be sure to use lots of soap too in that case.
Also, I am typically in favor of more “open” cages meaning there’s more breathing room so you aren’t sweating as much down there.
But yeah, personal hygiene can be a difficult thing when it comes to long-term chastity, but it’s something you really need to take care of.
P.S. check out some of our open steel cages at Cuck In Chastity. These cages make it easier to use the bathroom and maintain a clean environment for long-term chastity.
5. Mental health
One of the big long-term effects of chastity is not actual physical, but rather mental.
First of all, chastity alters your needs and wants.
Once the cage comes on, your needs and wants start mattering less and less and less.
Once you are locked in chastity, you’ll feel an inexplicable need to do whatever it takes to keep your wife/girlfriend/keyholder happy.
After all, she holds the key to your freedom!
That’s why I’m a big proponent of chastity for your FLR. it will really cause you to be more caring to your partner.
The second thing is you’ll be in a near constant state of arousal.
Any time you use the bathroom…any time you look down at yourself…and any time you try to get hard you’ll think about your keyholder.
In fact, you’ll probably find yourself getting hard randomly throughout the day!
Long-term chastity amplifies all of this.
And it will make you a lot more submissive too. That’s why cuckoldresses love to keep their cucks locked away in chastity.
It keeps them easy to control and obedient!
As a side note, some people do experience a decline in libido (sexual desire) in long-term chastity lockups. BUT usually this happens because they are locked in chastity for long periods of time and that’s it.
There’s no teasing, no fun games with your partner, and definitely no play time.
Part of the reason to lock up your husband/boyfriend in chastity is to tease him 24/7 and drive him crazy!
As long as you do that, his sexual energy will be through the roof!
6. Erectile dysfunction or penis shrinkage
Okay, one of the big concerns about chastity is that long-term wear may result in penis shrinkage.
Yes, wearing a chastity for a long period of time CAN result in your penis shrinking.
But it has to be long-term consistent wear (i.e. for months at a time). If you’re wearing it just for a week or two (i.e. on and off), it won’t really have an impact.
You see, the penis is made of a very spongy and elastic tissue called corpora cavernosa.
This tissue can expand as blood flows into the region – causing erections. But it can also shrink – and permanently so.
Penis shrinkage can of many reasons including (1) a decline of testosterone and (2) repeated microtears that that stop the tissue from stretching to its fullest (i.e. from long-term chastity).
But here’s the thing: the tissues in the penis can shrink while in the cage.
Since there’s no need for much blood flow in chastity, your penis won’t expand.
Obviously, penis shrinkage isn’t a concern for everyone. In fact, many cuckolds and sissies actually want to have a smaller penis!
If that’s the case, you should definitely read my blog post on how to shrink your cuck’s penis!
7. Prostate cancer
One of the big concerns about long-term chastity is prostate cancer.
Specifically, jerking off your dick on a regular basis and ejaculating is important for prostate health.
The prostate is like any part of your body – it needs regular “exercise” to stay healthy.
And prostate cancer just doesn’t happen to old guys. It can happen to young guys too – it’s not just an “old man’s disease”.
And from I’ve heard, prostate cancer is no fun and no joke so it’s something to be seriously aware of.
When you are locked in chastity for long periods of time, you won’t be able to get full erections and you won’t be able to jerk your dick.
As a result, your prostate won’t get its normal stimulation.
If you do want to do long-term chastity, I would recommend “milking” your prostate on a regular basis (at least once a week).
You can do this with a prostate massager in our store like the Cuck Heaven.
If you do a prostate milking in chastity, it’s not like a normal orgasm. In fact, it’s more like a frustrating ruined orgasm.
Your cum just kind of dribbles out and your sex drive will actually increase because it won’t be very pleasurable at all.
Doing this ensures your prostate gets healthy stimulation and should help prevent prostate cancer in the long run.
Is Long-Term Chastity Healthy – Final Thoughts
Overall, there are a ton of concerns – both mental/emotional and physical – that you need to consider when it comes to chastity.
But if you ask me, all great benefits of chastity outweighs the downsides.
Readers, think I missed anything about long-term chastity lockups in this post?

Dave says
Many of the problems above (and more) can be avoided by using a different type of device. The type of device that the above writing deals with is loosely called a ball trap device. They are anchored to the genitals via a ring secured around the scrotum and penis. A drawback not mentioned in the above is that most (maybe all) men can extract their penises from the tube portion of the device, do the naughty, and reinsert their penis. I suspect that this flaw leading to cheating is a reason these devices are popular.
Another type of device is called the full belt. These are more in keeping with with the female chastity belts. A band is placed around the waist, This supports sort of shield (usually with a penis tube (over the genitals). The sheld is secured at the bottom, between the legs by some sort of band/chain/cable running between the legs back to the center back of the waist belt. This type of device is more secure than the ball trap variety. But the hygiene and comfort issues many times dissuades it’s use.
Another type of device uses a tether. These devices are difficult to describe and are fairly new on the market. I can’t make many claims about them. More information can be obtained at tetherproducts.com .
The type of device that avoids many issues with the ball trap device (the top of this comment) is called a PA device. PA stands for Prince Albert. These are anchored to the genitals using a Prince Albert piercing of the urethra (in and near the end of the penus). But other types of piercings may also be used such as the frenum the uses a piercing across the underside of the penus.
(1) Lack of sleep – These devices allow for full erections so a nocturnal errection does not pull on a nonexistant scrotum ring.
(2) Constant Discomfort – the lack of a scrotum ring eliminates the stricture of the scrotum. So the constant rubbing is eliminated.
(2a) Additionally these devices are more covert in that they are not anchored at front and center of of the trousers. Cleaning (removal of dead skin, oils, and sweat) is easier as soap and water can be flushed easily though the penis tube without removal.
(2b) The ball trap devices require periodic removal for cleaning. This usually involves the personal attention of a keyholder. OA devices eliminates this tax on the keyholder.
(3) Blue Balls – Blue balls are not completely avoided. PA devices also allow for nocturnal emissions. These involuntary ejactulations occurring in sleep relieve blue balls and the prostate flushing issue.
(4) Cleanliness – see (2)
(5) Mental Heath – PA devices don’t elimate this one. But the avoidance of many other issues reduces stress.
(6) Erectile Disfunction and Shrinkage – The PA devices allow for full erections so these issues are eliminated.
(7) Prostate Cancer – The PA devices allow for nocturnal emissions so this issue is eliminated. When the prostate needs a ejaculation it happens during sleep. So there is no need for prostate massages. Although some keyholders do enjoy pegging.
The big drawback to PA devices is the hole in ones penis. The biggest factor here is you won’t be able to write your name in the snow or stand while urinating. The western toilet has never been a good urinal. It is much more hygienic to sit while urinating.
Another drawback is the pains with the procedures (piercing and stretching). This certainly sounds traumatic. But these brief impacts to one’s comfort are a small price to pay eliminating the other issues.
The time it takes to prepare to wear a OA device is about 6 to 9 months. So they can’t be worn immediately. It is very likely the wearer had gone with out a device for many years. Waiting for the day he can wear a PA tube is short by comparison.
. .
I threw this together rather quickly. Sorry for errors and omissions.
