The first thing to remember is that with most pants (especially jeans), there will naturally be a small visible crotch especially when you sit down.
It’s perfectly normal and I’ve even worn some jeans with a big natural crotch like that (without the chastity cage on).

The first is if you have a job that requires you to routinely go through metal detectors or some kind of security screening (i.e. lawyers, pilots, etc).
The second is if you have a job that involves a lot of manual labor (such as construction).
In these types of jobs, you can obviously sweat a lot, which can make the chastity experience uncomfortable.
Plus, some cages are not designed for the wearer doing manual labor or sports in mind.
